Purchasing Information, Terms and Conditions

Suppliers to Roland shall provide the following additional information as needed or when requested.

  1. When the Supplier wants to change the product, process, procedures, equipment or specifications, it must acquire Roland, approval before changing product design, content, specifications, process requirements, technical data or requirements.
  2. When required, Suppliers shall provide evidence of qualification of personnel when requested by Roland.
  3. Suppliers and Sub-Suppliers to Roland shall maintain a quality management system compliant to a minimum of ISO 9001 unless waivered in writing in advance by Roland management.
  4. The Supplier shall provide the identification, and revision status of specifications, drawings, process requirements, inspection/verification instructions and other relevant technical data when requested by Roland.
  5. The Supplier shall notify Roland, of nonconforming product when found in its facility (ies) or if found at another customer from the same lot number.
  6. Notify Roland, of nonconforming product for disposal at Roland facilities.
  7. Suppliers shall notify Roland, of changes in product and or process, changes of the Supplier’s raw material suppliers, changes of manufacturing facility location(s), and obtain Roland, approval in writing when wanting to implement the change.
  8. Supplier shall notify Roland, and appropriate regulatory authorities should they find counterfeit materials or product that were intended or delivered.
  9. When informed by Roland, the Supplier shall deliver technical test specifications, records, verification records, number of products reviewed, and any audit or investigation reports when product compliance testing records must be retained. As a minimum, records must be retained (10) years unless notified differently by Roland
  10. Roland, its Customer(s) and regulatory authorities retain the right to access all applicable Supplier organization’s manufacturing areas and suppliers and be given the authority to review product validation or quality records with 24-hour notice.
  11. The Supplier is to flow down to their supply chain the applicable Roland requirements including final customer requirements.
  12. When Roland issues a Corrective Action Request (CAR) to a Supplier, the CAR is to be responded to within (30) days.  Failure of the Supplier to submit a valid CAR within (30) days to Roland, will allow us to withhold payment until the CAR properly addresses the issue and is returned to Roland.
  13. Supplier will ensure persons working on Roland products/materials are aware of:
    • The contribution to product conformity
    • Their contribution to product safety, and
    • The importance of ethical behavior
  14. Compliance with Anti-Bribery LawsWe do not offer or accept bribes or kickbacks, either directly or through third parties. In giving or accepting things of value, we think about whether doing so could influence a business decision or give others that impression. We must also always ensure that the records of all payments we make are accurate and complete. These obligations apply in all cases but are especially strict in matters involving all government officials. Our commitment to anti-bribery applies, to Roland at all locations, no matter what the local laws or cultural practices may be. We also expect any third parties acting on our behalf to uphold this principle.
  15. Counterfeit and Fraud Compliance Roland and its employees are responsible for the detection and prevention of counterfeit and fraud, misappropriations, and other irregularities. Counterfeit and Fraud is defined as the intentional, false representation or concealment of a material fact, either material product or documents for inducing another to act upon it to his or her injury.  Should an employee see counterfeit products or fraud being conducted, they are to report the fraud to the owners.
  16. Conflict Minerals Policy Roland strives to be a good corporate citizen. We are committed to ensuring the health, safety and protection of people who come into contact with our products and business, and we require high social, environmental and human rights standards among our suppliers. Managing our obligations in relation to Conflict Minerals is a part of our corporate responsibility.
  17. Roland is proactively supporting development and governance of conflicting minerals.  Our commitment includes the following:

Roland is working towards ensuring that our products do not contain Conflict Minerals that have been sourced from mines that support or fund conflict within the Democratic Republic of Congo or adjoining countries. We are committed to:

  • identifying which Roland products are impacted and targeting our efforts accordingly
  • not buying products and materials containing Conflict Minerals directly from Conflict Mines
  • not buying products and materials containing Conflict Minerals directly from Conflict Mines
  • asking our suppliers to work towards ensuring that any Conflict Minerals contained in the products and materials supplied to Roland originate from Conflict Free sources
  • contributing to conflict-free trade by encouraging our suppliers not to discriminate against legitimate sources of Conflict Minerals
  • In addition, we are committed to engaging with our customers regarding their disclosure obligations.
  1. The Environment and Occupational Health and SafetyIt is essential that Roland employees work in safe and clean environments. We seek to act in accordance with industry standards in occupational health and safety and environmental responsibility in all our operations. We are committed to meeting all health, safety and environmental laws and regulations that apply to us and seek to monitor and review each operation with a goal of continuous improvement.
  1. Protection of Personal InformationWe respect the privacy of our employees and are committed to protecting their personal information. We will collect, use and disclose personal information only for legitimate business or employment purposes or if required by the law. We also take reasonable steps to protect the confidentiality of personal information we have collected.
  1. Respect for Human RightsWe respect the human rights of our employees, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders important to our business. We comply with all Federal and State human rights laws and regulations that apply to us. We provide fair working conditions for our employees and do not tolerate the use of child labor or forced labor in our supply chain. We also expect any supplier or other company that we work with to act ethically and to comply with our Code of Ethics and International, Federal and Local laws.
